Horrible update!

The only reason I rated this version one star is that I cant rate it zero stars. The new version does nothing to solve the problems. Still cant read the magazine as a digital version of the print magazine without starting over from the start every time the app is opened. Looks like I will have to do like the other reviewers and cancel my subscription.

The new version is terrible...

The electronic format used to be fun and engaging but lost everything with the latest version, which is simply a list of links to poorly formatted content. Please bring back the previous version! Update November 30 - a new version was released but nothing was changed. I was hoping it will go back to the good old format. Still terrible.

Worst update ever

Before the update, I rated Runners World 5 stars, because the App worked like a charm. After the update, I will have to cancel my subscription because everything that used to work is broken now: - The app doesnt remember where I stopped reading, so I am always starting at the beginning of the issue. - All my favorite articles I saved over the last couple of years (!) are gone! Can you imagine my frustration? - The intro says that you can favorite articles. I dont even see this option (I have an iPad Air 2), so no, its not my device! - The app freezed up on me 3 times in the last 10 minutes. Every time I reopen the app, you guessed it right, I have to start reading on page 1 again. Why oh why did you have to make a new app? I have a guess here: The publisher got a cutthroat quote from another supplier to make the app for half the yearly cost. The publisher thought, oh good, we can save money! And they ditched an app that was working perfectly fine and did what it was supposed to do to an utter mess. Thank you Rodale for caring for your readers. I cant believe this is happening with such a reputable publication as Runners World. Update: Oh, you have to be logged in with Facebook to save favorite articles! How reader friendly! Please restore the old app ASAP!

Seriously Rodale?

Rodale did you actually test the new format with actual customers?? Im dumbfounded how this poor of an app could get to market. Not only is it terrible to navigate, previously downloaded content is gone, its slow and lags. I have many Rodale subscriptions because I love the content, but with a platform this disconnected from the customer, I will find my content elsewhere.

Updated Version is a Disaster

This app is totally useless now. I have tried to restore my purchases and the app fails every time. I even deleted the app and reinstalled it to no avail. I would avoid this app until they figure out a fix. Now I need to decide if I should cancel my subscription and go back to paper.

Update was a downgrade

I really enjoyed the previous version of this app, and I love the magazine itself, but this version is painful. I loathe seeing the same words in plain text underneath the text that is on graphics -- its clunky, and unnecessary, and makes me feel like Im "not reading everything" when I skim over it (silly, but annoying.) The new table of contents doesnt feel like a magazine. And a couple times the app closed down, and I lost my place. Im not sure what problems this update was trying to solve, but I find it much less enjoyable. I want the feel of a magazine without the clutter of having tons of paper in my home. If I want to just read articles, I would go to Runners Worlds website.

New version of app is broken

I cant restore my purchases through iTunes the way the app instructions say to do it. After clicking restore purchases, the app immediately shuts down. Uninstalled, powered down, and reinstalled, and it still happens. Needs to be fixed guys.

Awful update

The new version is terrible. I have been a happy Runners World subscriber for years, and I had no problems with the previous app. The new app takes forever to load, is clunky and disjointed, and is just miserable to navigate. I am going to cancel my digital subscription and am tempted to cancel the subscription all together. This is not a way to treat your readers.

Please, restore old vesion!

The new app is terribly clunky, especially when one lives in a region with slow internet connection.I enjoyed the simplicity of the old version. Now, it takes too long to load, it loses my place when I close out, I HATE the text only version (the whole point of the digital version is to feel like you are reading the actual magazine, but reducing waste). Before, once downloaded, the magazine was there for easy perusal or revision. Now, it has to download every time I go back to an old issue. Please restore the old app!

Functionally terrible

Please return to prior version. I cannot add much more than other reviewers, but as someone who travels frequently, I need an app that reliably allows me to read off-line. Saving for later - which is he primary reason I pay for my issues otherwise I would just get my content from Flipboard - should mean that the issue downloads properly for viewing off-line as if I had a hard copy in my computer bag. Good chance I will cancel if no change soon.

Cant even open app

Im a previous subscriber and I was hoping to catch back up with one of my favorite magazines, but I cant even get the app to open! Every time I try to download an issue, the app crashes and refuses to reopen. I sent an email to customer support and was told to delete the app, download again and check for updates. Which was the first thing I did before contacting customer support. Since I responded with that information, however, Ive received no response. Im extremely disappointed and I would love a refund for my subscription. Do not bother downloading this app. Subscribe through the Nook app so you have a chance of actually being able to open and read the magazine.

Why????

You took a perfectly serviceable app and set it back by about 10 years!!! Forget that I cant remove old issues any more, how about just letting me see the magazine in its print format? When your shoe guide says "see the chart to the right" and I CANT SEE THE CHART TO THE RIGHT or even figure out to which graphic its referring, that is not helpful!! Plus, why are the paragraphs numbered?? Its like your showing us the magazine in draft format before it goes to print. While youre fixing this one, please fix Womens Health, too, or youll be losing a subscriber of both magazines.

If it aint broke...

I subscribe to several magazines that are supported by MAZ, including Runners World, Bicycling & Mens Fitness. I have enjoyed them all over the years and they are all now non-functional. I very much enjoyed having the issues download for air travel, no despite following directions (when the app does work) they are not available. Please roll this app back to the previous version. This is not only not an improvement, it is about to cause me to discontinue my subscriptions.

Crashes when restoring purchases

Is impossible to load. Crashes every time I try to restore purchases (iTunes subscription). I uninstalled and reinstalled, issue persists. Will likely cancel my subscription.

Used to be great...now terrible

Used to be a great app, fast page transitions and easy to use. The new and improved (?) app is a complete mess. I will cancel my subscription if RW doesnt change back to the old version.

Negative stars

Cancelled my digital subscription because of this horrendous update. Not sure how this was released but somebody needs fired. Unfortunately theyve probably already been promoted. Terrible terrible terrible.

So terrible

I cant believe they ruined the app so bad! I hadnt accessed it for a couple of months back when it was a nice looking magazine. Now its a dumbed down spammy looking design which is more appropriate for a free edition of some start up newspaper. Cancelling digital subscriptions.

Super glitchy

Terrible app, cant view PDF version offline. Please go back to the old magazine style format, which was great!
